Have you considered a light box to help with your SAD during the winter? I've read articles promulgating the efficacy of daily exposures to alleviate the symptoms. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/sea...atment/dn00013 |

Actually that "to" should have been a "for". Sorry for not proofing my post.
Last nite would have been clear enough to get a pic but I was too tired and achy to go out after supper. Maybe later in the week. I have tried some light therapy with mixed results. I'm pretty sure that it's a bit beyond just SAD and has some components of mild depression and/or bi-polar. Not bad enough to be awful most of the time but in hindsite could see i hadn't been very functional or had just vegged for days. Usually I can control it with some herbals like St Johns wort or 5htp. I would never be able to take an Alaska winter for that reason alone. Carol |

When I was clinically depressed about 12 years ago, Paxil did a good job of lifting my mood. Took about 3 weeks to have a noticeable effect. Don't know what are the good antidepressants these days, as I've had no recurrence since, knock on wood. An experience I wouldn't wish on anybody; though I do think it made me a stronger person.
