I'm glad to hear the power is back on. It is too bad about your trees. They looked like very nice trees.

The wind was very powerful. I opened some windows to let the cool air in the house, and I kept hearing cracking noises amongst the trees. I thought some trees were going to fall, but I guess the cracking sound was just from the tree trunks twisting in the wind. I had never experienced that cracking sound before. It was pretty much a constant sound.

From what I heard on tv, it sounded like the Dayton / Columbus area took the hardest hit.

I guess if maple trees can't stand the wind, dwarf plants have almost no chance.

I had about 150 dwarf project growouts, now I'm thinking I have less than 1/3 of those left
I will write down how many, if any, I have left of each variety and try and get than information to CraigL.

oh my goodness, thank Heavens you are all okay! storms like that scare the you know what out of me. Of course I have huge trees that hang over my house, so I always think I'll end up departing this world with a tree landing on me in my sleep (I know, silly).

I am so sorry you lost your trees and plants , but glad you got power back quickly.

I hope all the TV members out there are safe.

Sad to see such great looking trees laying horizontal, but I am glad to hear that everyone is ok and it is a real blessing to have power back in this heat. Btw, is there a clause in your insurance policy about tomatoes?

I am so sorry about your property and especially your garden. We are almost recovered from Irene. My Heirloom Tomatoes and permanent staking the tomatoes grows on, was not covered my insurance as well as my fig, peach and apple trees. We did get the Hampton Master Gardeners to help us save our 150 year old Historical Muscadine Grape Vine: which started my love and research Historical plants/trees.

We just lost power this time around for about 5 hours, with on damages to property and tomatoes " Thank God".

But I think the wind damage were minimal to us last week because my tomatoes is gowning on the grounds in their natural pattern because we are rebuilding the permanent staking fro Irene. .

My Heart goes out to you and your family.

I suffer from dyslexia so hopefully you can understand me.

I am praying for you-all. We were so focused on the damaged to our home during hurricane Irene, I didn't take pictures of the garden until after clean-up one month later, be. I wished I have taken picture before Irene when our Heirloom tomatoes were over 10 feet. By the time I took after clean-up, there were only broken fence pictures where the tomatoes were and only grass growing in our heirloom nurseries all over the property with over 500 plants destroyed.
I have many Tomatoes ready this month but I open in August. I will be happy to send you some of my tomatoes. Just e-mail me your address at jjbaby38s@aol.com. or

We had more strong winds yesterday afternoon. When it was all over I found this in my driveway.

No garden damage.
