I think the most beautiful thing (in addition to the tomatoes) is Remy. Very nice photo!

remy

I'm with others in that the Italian Red Pear, Gransasso Strain is very beautiful and if it tastes as good as it looks in your garden then it most certainly would be a welcome addition to a grow list.

Incredible garden pictures, I love seeing everyone gardens, so many unique layouts all over. Thanks for sharing.

I didn't know an unripe tomato could elicit such responses!

Doing good! Still making lots of tomatoes which is a good thing since I had birds attacking my tomatoes something awful this year. It had to be because of the drought. I had to go out and buy lots of bird netting. I covered most every thing up, and then there were lower tomatoes eaten so I though ok now rodents. I bought more hardware cloth to surround plants. They were still getting eaten, so I buy those rat sticky traps. What gets caught? Birds. No I wasn't happy to see bird stuck on the traps. So I put up more netting to completely surround the darn plants. It hasn't been a fun year!

That sounds familiar. Two places I pick blueberries had their bushes picked clean by the birds this year. Both places said this is the first time they lost their entire berry crop to the birds. They had never seen anything like it. And both places have several acres of berry bushes.

Same here Remy, the critters were looking for water.
The not fun may not be over, Late Blight was confirmed in Wyoming County, getting a little to close for comfort.

Don't even say that Ray! I am in that little strip between the Lake Effect clouds so I get less rain than everyone else. I was in driest part of WNY this year right where the wild fire along the 190 was last month. I was not happy with that this year, but it saved me during the LB season of a few years ago. I sure hope it does again.
BTW, I was so hoping you would come to the tomato party this year. I hope you show up one of these years!

I was planning on coming to the party, then my daughters car broke down Friday and I spent Saturday fixing it. Not fun. It seems every Labor Day weekend I get to labor.

First time I got LB was end of September last year and I wasn't paying attention to the alerts so I didn't know it was already in Erie County. Now I watch like a hawk.

Well, hopefully next year will be the year. My father just fixed my car, saved me a lot of money. You guys are good that way.
Knock on wood we do not see LB!
