Permethrin(synthetic but exactly the same as pyrethrin) is from chrysanthemums, works great, you can eat the fruit the next day.

Well, I've probably been wrong more times than I've been right...........AND.........I was not able to get neem oil, in fact, the only option I had today was Malathion. Never used it before and haven't used it yet (was waiting until this evening). What are y'all's thoughts on Malathion?

Malathion is for whiteflies. I don't think it works on mites.

There is one drawback about Malathion - it does smell bad.

I don't trust labels, lol. I think it kills red spider mites, but not the other kinds. The link below talks about it wiping out natural predators of the mites.
http://extension.colostate.edu/topic...r-mites-5-507/ Malathion can aggravate some spider mite problems, despite being advertised frequently as effective for mite control. |

Here's a useful link that explains a lot about spider mites.
http://extension.colostate.edu/topic...r-mites-5-507/ Also explains that insecticide use can make the problem worse, including malathion. The mites are more prone to develop resistance than their natural predators, sadly. A real pest. Whoops! Same link, Cole. I was reading it when you posted it.
