Actually, a better idea might be to teflon tape the bottoms
of the containers.

When I did a quick web search for "teflon fabric" and similar
combinations, I mostly found teflon tape, at most a few
inches wide, which did not sound particular appealing
taped down to a deck (which would be annoying if you
wanted to move a container a couple of feet over as
well as spin it on demand).

However, if you taped the bottom of the container itself,
it would move with the container, and the "patchworkness"
of it would be hidden by the container.
