One of my local big box stores carried BT. The other didnt. Their websites will tell you if a particular location has BT in stock.

I checked my local Home Depot and it's only available online. They do offer free Store Delivery however.

Mosquito dunks are solid BT and readily available at most big box stores including Walmart. I'm not sure how you could use them to make a spray, but I bet you could figure it out. I just use mine in the watering can like I said, but I know that's not feasible for multiple plants or plants in the ground.

Edit: Wow, I never realized there were different kinds of BT. When we saw our first hornworm, I looked up prevention and the mosquito dunks in the water thing was one of the methods I came across. Now that I research more, though, I see that the dunks are really only effective against mosquitoes and fungus gnats, so I guess we're just lucky we haven't seen another hornworm!

This was very helpful in explaining the differences between BT strains and what each is effective against: http://www.ext.colostate.edu/pubs/insect/05556.html

Mosquito dunks are Bacillus Israelensis, are they equally effective as BT on caterpillars?

Yeah it sucks, and delivery time is 10 to 14 days. By that time my plants would be decimated. I'm going to check Lowes and Amazon, might as well get my Prime account money's worth. (But I hate that they mark up Prime items these days, so you pay in advance and pay when you buy, aargh!)

First world problems!😪

I have always found the BT dust at my local Ace Hardware. I found the spray BT at Tractor Supply.

I think that might be where I bought my BT spray, Tractor supply.

Now I need to correct mine, mosquito dunks are Bacillus Thuringiensis subspecies Israellensis.
