Robert I dont know a thing about plating food.
If you start that up your wife will kill both of us. Now the habanero shrimp report. I plucked a habanero from my garden and used half of it with the shrimp. It had chilli powder red pepper and chili Arbole in it too. At first bite it had a fruity flavor and was a little hot. It never got so hot you couldn't eat it but my body started reacting in a weird way. It felt like it was over heating or something. As for the food you see on the plate there is no way I ate all of that last night. I picked up my mess washed the dishes and went to bed. Today I finished it off for lunch. Worth |

Carolyn when we were kids my family had some of the finest china from the 1800's along with the fine silver.
We would read and see how to set a table and then do it. All of our furniture was over 100 years old. We would play like we were rich like Rockefeller. This has stuck with me to this day. So there I was all alone in my house yesterday and decided I would eat in fine style. Just to remind myself that we are all somebody. Worth |

Worth, that looked like an ID day feast fit for a king! Those sound like some good dishes, if they're that heavy and oven-proof they should serve you well. I bought some so-so dishes just to have some when I moved to TX, those pics reminded me that I need to start looking for a good, heavy set that will last.

It is good to 450F in the oven. I have looked on line and found sets from around $130 on up. Mine was $100 and I added the 8 smaller bowls (add another $30) giving me 40 pieces. I have had stone ware and earthen ware and it just isn't as good. Nothing beats porcelain. Okay I have to admit something, I am a dishaholic. I look at the high end china sites and drool. My mother had an antique china cabinet and I would sit for hours looking at the dishes. If there was a Macys in town I would be broke. Worth |

It has been many years since I have been to Golden Corral.
And is deserving of a story. The last time I was there it was in Anchorage Alaska. There was a family there that had a little girl and a boy. The boy was around 11 years old and the kid was as big around as he was tall. The rest of the family was through and the poor child just kept eating. At one point he stopped and undid his pants to make more room. He was forcing food down his throat and couldn't swallow anymore. He took a break and then got up and came back with about 1/2 gallon of ice cream covered in all of the fixings. For the life of me I cant understand how someone could let their child do this. The kid is doomed to poor health for the rest of his life. If they let him keep it up he will be one of the ones they have to cut the wall out to get him out of the house. Worth |

You guys have no idea.
So let me tell you something. I have seen many people come and go in the kitchen there. One I wish I knew where she was because I would move her to Texas in a heart beat. She worked her tail off and did a great job but moved to some other place. Mean as a rattlesnake with a cheap rum hangover but we were buddies. She was from Poland and she used to help me with speaking German. The guys couldn't keep their eyes off of her. So far every woman that has worked there and did a fantastic job the lazy no good for nothing guys figured out ways to run them off. They would lie to them and tell them they heard they were going to be let go. They simply dont want anyone showing them up for how utterly worthless they are. As for the one chef and both lead cooks I know they are great folks and will do anything for me. The chef is a guy and one of the lead cooks is a woman. One time I had to report that the butter dispenser for pop corn had rotten butter in it. It hadn't been cleaned in so long it stank like hog flop and people were using it. Worth |
