Holy moly that 4th spread and Sunday dinner are making me hungry. Killer dish set, too. We had to get rid of about half of our dishes when we downsized to this teensy apartment because there just wasn't room, but luckily they were all cheapy mismatched dishes anyway (how my 4-setting dish sets always end of with 3 settings, I'll never know ) so it wasn't too much of a loss. I also have a set of china my mom got us for our wedding that I really don't care for (but I'll never tell her that haha) so we never use. Maybe we'll invest in a nicer, sturdier set of dishes someday.

The rest of the family was through and the poor child just kept eating.
At one point he stopped and undid his pants to make more room.
He was forcing food down his throat and couldn't swallow anymore.
He took a break and then got up and came back with about 1/2 gallon of ice cream covered in all of the fixings.

For the life of me I cant understand how someone could let their child do this.
The kid is doomed to poor health for the rest of his life.
If they let him keep it up he will be one of the ones they have to cut the wall out to get him out of the house.

Wow! That's so sad. I wonder why people let their children eat like that. Crazy, but I have seen it too.

When I was that young I could eat till the cows came home but I got out and went hunting and fishing afterwards.
Packing a 10 pound rifle up and down hills in the snow and freezing weather or wading in the creek fishing swimming and chasing girls with snakes tends to use up calories.
Obviously this child went home and played with his video games.

Yeah I got roped into it the last time I went.
There was a nice all you could eat seafood place that was fantastic.
Fresh food at all times.
The owner and his wife the co-owner got into an argument going down the road and she jumped out of the truck.
NOT GOOD at 55 mph.
The place closed down.

Seems like a sad sign of the times for today.
We always played outside and I encourage that for my children too. Electronics can be bad for kids, I have seen it too many times.

I've seen this in the winter. Our oldest grandson (Almost 6) wants on my wife's tablet 24/7. When it warms up, he does play outside a lot.

Had to share (since this is for random pictures after all)...ate my first slice of ripe homegrown tomato on Friday. It was the best tomato I've ever tasted. Sprinkled a little kosher salt on top of the slice and added the rest to a spaghetti sauce. I might need to work on my tomato slicing skills, though.

Haha, a few tears in that skin I see

So here's a squash from the "Flower Only" variety - yes, that's what the nursery named it lol . . It's obviously not true to the name, but what a beautiful squash.. And of course the finished product after it ran through the spaghetti doo-dad..

and can't forget my beautiful wife looking at her new bunk bed this weekend ......

Okay Mike you gave me an idea.
I have some big cucumbers I picked today that were a little too big.
I scraped the seeds and peeled them.
Then I ran them through the food processor.
I mixed in some vinegar sugar and mayonnaise.
It is in the refrigerator cooling off and will be my snack tonight.
Cucumber slaw waste not want not.

Worth,
The cucumbers look good. Try substituting Sour Cream for the mayo. Old Polish specialty.

Mike if I would have had, had it and I like plain Greek yogurt too, but that would involve going to the store.

Looks good Worth.

Jan agrees we have to get some of those dishes. We're trying Cornish Hens for our first time tonight.

Thank you Robert.
I want you to know it may look like I eat like a king but I dont spend like one.
I buy huge bags of chicken thighs and wash and separate them and freeze two to a bag.
All of my meat is bought on sale and only on sale.
Everything I make is made as fresh as I can without processing.
Its a lot of work but I love every minute of it.
Did you know a Cornish Hen is just a baby chicken?
