Casino, great set of greenhouse and garden pictures! I like all the flowers lining your raised beds, were those double tulips? So interesting to see other folk's ideas. Got a chuckle out of the contrast of high rise buildings overlooking your earthy eden.

How gorgeous! I have a greenhouse that came with my house, but yours puts mine to shame. And double stars for not only building it yourself, but for using recycled materials, as well. I'm impressed.

Now, time for some fun!

I am working on putting a 4 by 6 double glass door outside the greenhouse to heat water. I will enclose the glass door around a piece of metal painted black and have a pipe or blake hose wound around the inside with water circulating through and into two 50 gallon drums! I will put the door on a 60 degree angle with the ground south facing! On sunny days it will heat my 100 gallons of water I hope to about 60 t0 70 degrees and my greenhouse will be nice and warm for a few days even without sun!

Somehow I missed this post. Joe I love your recycled GH. You did a fantastic job!! I know you must be getting a lot of enjoyment out of it. Your seedlings look so at home inside. Loved looking at your beautiful garden pics also.. Have you got the GH set up to use year round yet? We moved off our farm last year and left my recycled GH behind for my son to use. Oh how I miss it!! But we are moving back this summer and plan on building another one. Cant wait..

I love my greenhouse to death. Its not year round but I get 8 months worth of usage space. I use it to start my tomatoes in the spring. I also grow orchids and use it all summer long to house my orchid collection. The (real) sun helps to beef up the orchids before moving them back indoors for the winter "under lights".

barefootgardener thanks for posting to bring this link up again. I forgot that I posted pictures of my greenhouse. It was a nice trip down memory lane and take another look at those pictures.

Yes, thanks from me, too, Ginny- I missed the second set of your photos, Joe, and I also loved looking back at the originals! Amazing- so neat and so beautiful- what a great job you do.

Hope you have a great season-

Stunning greenhouse, Joe. It's not only wonderful functionally, but beautiful architecturally. Looks like it was meant to be in that location of the yard. Maybe you did and I missed it, but what's the name of your best friend, the real owner of the home?

I too enjoyed seeing this old thread. Please feel free to add more updated photos. I always enjoy looking at everybody's tomatoes, plants, set up, etc. Really good use of the recycled materials. Hope your season is going well

Eattting lettuce from the floor of my smaller greenhouse. I also have lettuce ready in another two weeks in my cold frames.
