Today most of the monuments are owned by the original owners, descendants of Czech, German, French (etc.) families, some in the possessions of the municipality, towns and various associations and more than one hundred remain in the custody of the Czech Republic. The castles and chateauxs about its I write here have one common feature. The owners live in them, organize cultural events, weddings, have offices, etc. Mostly they are not museums, but in the season (from April to October) the guides perform the most beautiful parts of the castle. Such a tour takes about an hour, passing through the uninteresting parts of the castle or castle (rooms with old furniture, porcelain, armory, castle chapel, old kitchen, picture gallery, famine, etc.). Tours are each hour and sometimes more frequent, while the number of visitors is limited (most often 35 people). Do not take a photo while browsing. Vladimír |

Beautiful cities. Surprisingly small and well kept.
Thanks for sharing these photos.

So there should be some chatting and pictures of my vacation. On vacation, I inflicted injury left knee. I was limping the whole holiday. Hourly guided tours of the locks were hardship for me. Some photos I did, but when I was out of the garden on Sunday, I forgot the backpack and the camera in the tram. How is a good habit in us, someone has appropriated it. That's all I wanted to write.

Carolyn, I read your PM. I will reply later because I have problems with writing. I also had reading glasses in my backpack and I will not have a new one until Tuesday.

Vladimir, I am sorry you lost your backpack with glasses and camera, what a disappointment, and an expense to replace, no doubt. I always enjoy looking at your travel photos. And with your knee injury to start with, it sounds like this is one vacation that you might wish you had stayed home to relax instead! I think we all have had one of those at one time or another.

Today, after two weeks, it seems to me that our holiday was nice. We visited all of the castles and chateaus I had planned. The biggest Prague castle (the seat of the Czech Kings today President) we visited on Monday, when I still had no health problems. I have no pictures. In order to finish my holiday in style, I found two views of the Prague Castle on the Internet.

Impressive views! What fun it would be to go boating down that river and see the history and architecture on it's banks!

Charles Bridge,
I hope I can visit Prague once more. I was a student at the time, just finished 3rd year in University of Crimea. It was an exchange visit between students of two colleges, what a great time. That visit changed my life.

That's how one unnamed old visitor of the Grand Prix looked like. Umbrella with glossy reflective surface, hat against the sun when he came out from under the umbrella (during breaks between races), long distance glasses to see on the big screen and on the riders, hree liters of drink and food in the backpack.
The races were beautiful, the best in the last ten years. Vladimír PS.: I survived just fine. |

At last! And the feet need to breathe also! I'm glad the heat was not too much for you. Is your knee recovering well?

Meanwhile, the foot is holding. But I'm not going too much yet. I'll see if my leg is all right in the week since August 19, when we're going for a vacation in the Highlands. We'll walk 12 to 15 km a day.
