Guys the reason I thought it was so funny is because when I saw the picture I thought of the part in The Raiders of the Lost Ark where the Nazis get zapped.
The expression on the cats face is the same and everything.

The guy even says, "Its Beautiful".

It looks like some type of upright Yucca that is well groomed.
They are commonly called Spanish bayonet Spanish dagger century plant cactus and all sorts of stuff.
But they are a yucca of which there are many, not to be confused with agave.

I am clueless on those they are too far away.

But it looks like your Yucca is more the likely Yucca schottii AKA Mountain yucca.
I have one growing at my place but smaller.
Click on the image to the right and tell me what you think.
There are so may yucca varieties.
Many people call them Spanish daggers a very dangerous plant.
They are some times used for burglar repellents for good reason.

Thanks Worth. I was looking at a site on ornamental trees, abundance of Yuccas indeed. The Yucca has only a few months left, a convenience store with some new trees is forthcoming. The far-away pic trees will be conserved, along with 8 others.
Yuccas are everywhere around here, they got me a few times during childhood, no thievery involved. Not quite as bad as a sculpin saying hello, still, I remember it was not fun.

The Yucca hybrid is right on the money.

Those trees in the second pic, I'm guessing some type of ficus cuz of the light colored bark, but as Worth says they are kinda far away to see for sure. But ficus and yuccas are common in our area of So CA.

Thanks peebee. I'll take some better pics next time. Have to ID trees sometimes, so I'll start collecting leaves and documenting it with close-ups.
