My Raised growing bed at work

Just got done prepping my raised growing bed at work for another growing season. Last fall put in horse manure and last week added organic ferts, micro's from one of Germany's extinct volcanic regions and 160 liters of organic growing soil mix. Been working this bed for 3 years and it keeps getting better. It' right up against the building I work in and is facing south. The walls are sheet metal with insulation sandwiched inside. They absorb and emit heat which makes the plants thrive. Here's some pictures of the raised bed at the site to include a couple pictures of the Heliport next to the site. Ami

Those are UH-60L Blackhawks that have the GE 700-701C turbines the same as the AH-64 Apache. We shut one engine off one day and we still was able to do 160 mph.

Ami, see if you can find a manufacturer's name on that big dish antenna. It looks a whole lot like the ones I was signing for when I was overseeing some contracts at the Harris Corporation in Palm Bay Florida. Should be about 10 meters (33 feet) across.

I like your innovation with the raised bed. I'm not sure they would have let me do something like that when I was in uniform. Of course, civilians always got away with all kinds of stuff.

Robin, the Blackhawks just got back from a deployment down range. That's a hot refueling station they are using to refuel the helo. We had the same thing when I worked jets in the Air Force. Turn and Burn was the name of the game.

Ted, that's a "78" and is a 78 footer. We have a "39" and a "52" they use that's more the size that you are talking about. I watched them build that one and the foundation is sunk 15 feet down. If you need specific info I can get that for you.

The only problem with my growing location at work is it's about 50 feet away from a pogoda where the site workers take their smoke breaks and have their barbeque grills. So I do get people wanting some condiments to put on their burgers and those big fat tomatoes I grow there don't help matters much. So I give in and let them have a few but I get a burger in the deal. I'll update this thread during the course of the growing season. Ami

Thanks, Ami. No, I guess when one works on something, you never lose curiosity on the subject. All day measurements with micrometers will build curiosity.

When I visited your area in 1979, they didn't have "bergers" off the base. The nice "hotel" we were billeted in said, "What?" On the base, we could get a burger at the NCO Club.

Anyhow, tell them mooching food service turkeys to control their customers. And let them know your tomatoes should be worth a side of fries and a tall soda as well. Careful they don't start feeling ownership over your mater patch.
