Hey Neva,
What the plan is besides the obvious is to harvest the seeds and save some to give them out to folks who need them. I want to do this with tomatoes, pumpkin,Winter squash and a few other things. This also may be a chance to also start making a little money as well.I hope to have enough for my forum friends and needy gardeners who otherwise can not afford many seeds. I have a bigger garden than I have had for the last three seasons and hope to make the best of it for food fun and to help folks be able to garden on their own. A lot of work but it will be well worth it. Kevin |

Hi Kevin,
I hope you know peppers have to be bagged to get true seeds as they crosspollinate like rabbits. That is quite a nice list. I wish it was warm enough here to get good habenaro types here. All I have is: Tula/Goliath Jalapeno- probably like the one you got called Mammoth Jalapa Jalapeno Autopick Garden Salsa Inferno - Hungarian hot wax Kung Pao |

Try planting a bit early for habs. Johnny's carries habs and they are in Main. As to seed saving I do know about bagging but want to try and separate them in pots far enough away from each other so they do not cross. Otherwise I will bag them.

sloooooow peppers!
we put ours on a heat pad a few hours a day, and the only thing that came up was this years Greenleaf Tabasco seeds. they look good tho. Ill have to be better about keeping my seeds in a happy place, and go through them more quickly! (im trying to grow out a mess of everything this year and get new seed) My dads house has air conditioning, so mebbe the seed box will spend the worst of the summer there. |

Boy I have not potted up so many peppers in my life. And I am not finished yet. My Fish peppers seem to be in a big hurry to grow big.Everything should be ready by the end of the month. Got a bunch of chocolate bells to plant too.We found the battery charger so pics as soon as I get a chance.

It is indeed Kat.Many of these peppers are very new to me and I am excited to have them.I did have some losses but that is to be expected. It is a real big push to get these plants potted up so we have plenty.I hope to share some for folks that cant get them around here so others can enjoy them. Seed saving will also be a top priority as well. This will be my first year at seed saving so I hope everything goes right so I can share seeds with others as some have done for me this year.
On that note I recently found out the local FFA chapter has a plant sale every year and hope to donate some good heirloom seeds to them to grow and sell next year.I think this would be a good idea to support them.As a former FFA member many moons ago I have many fond memories of my horticulture projects. One of my projects also included growing pumpkins one year and selling the harvest.A produce manager of a major Store in Cali gave me a compliment and told me my pumpkins put anything he could order to shame. But then we all know home grown is better than most store bought produce any day . Kevin |

Will do Kat. It seems like I am going from one end of the scoville scale to the other. So I think I can find something for ya.
