Hot Pepper "Facing Heaven"

One of my plant customers mentioned a hot pepper from China named "Facing Heaven" - he wondered if seedlings or seeds were available - I'd never heard of it. Another customer also mentioned it but had a few seeds to share - so I have two seedlings started (they are still tiny). Anyone here know anything about this pepper - is it another "Peppadew" situation - something popular because it is rare/obscure? Anyone here grown it? I will certainly report back on what I get this year, take pictures and save plenty of seeds.

Doesn't look like such a big deal - I have dozens of hot pepper varieties that are cone shaped and point upward. Oh well - we shall see after tasting if it is very notable.

I really am interested in how this pepper did RE: taste, production etc.
I like the name of it, so I am intrigued

It was an odd one - very tall, lanky plant, upward facing cones, but they had a bit of Chinense (Hab family) in the aroma. I didn't eat one (smelled too hot!). Not an appearance winner, that's for sure!

Sounds like a bit of a disappointment. Im limited on my pepper space this year so for the new ones I add, I want to be fairly confident in them. I decided to utilize some of my pepper space for more zucchini and cucumber. Thanks for the info Craig

No idea, since it came to me with little information. It looks like an annum, but wonder if it is indeed an unusual form of Chinense.

if i may elaborate, "Facing Heaven" or in cantonese "Chi Tin Chiu" (banana that face to the heavens" is the frutescens, asian birds eye.

Aptly named, as frutescens chilis faces upwards.

Thanks! It really doesn't look like a Fructescens (flower color) - it looks like a typical Annum, has an aroma reminiscent of Chinense.

Yes, i do realize that they could also be annums, with cross pollinations happening rampantly with little done to avoid it.

Chinese calls whatever chilies that points upwards by the same name, i believe
