cottonpicker,

Tough choice, but my favorite last year is repeating again this season - Goose Creek.

Next to follow are Paul Robeson and Marianna's Peace.

Haven't tasted Indian Stripe, Spudakee, Hege German, Black Krim and Momotaro yet (too many choices all coming at once this season).

Barry,

My Goose Creek are perfectly round. No resemblance to "paste tomatoes". You can see them "hiding" in the foilage above. Just a nice balance of juice and pulp. Now I can understand why this is Laurel's top selling tomato plant every year.

My Purple Haze F3 tomatoes are significantly larger than those on the F1 plant. Taste (to me) is identical. Hope you see the same thing with your Purple Haze plants.

I was noticing last night that a couple of my newly set Goose Creek fruits are more plum shaped. The first two that set, though, are nice & round. These are actually the ones that are already "pinking up", although one of them has a small spot of BER. Since it has stayed a "small spot" I left the fruit alone and so far so good. These ripening ones aren't very big, though, and I'm wondering what the average size of Goose Creek usually are? I did get my plant from Laurel, and with Ray's enthusiasm about these I'm looking forward to tasting them!!

They are all "Centerfolds" Ray. Don't get much better. Ami

Really good looking, Ray! Be happy that you already have ripe fruits - I will have to wait some time... and I'm so curious about some new-to-me varieties! Goose Creek among others.

Default Goose Creek and Momotaro

Barry,

Here are photos of Goose Creek and Momotaro, for comparison. Both are about the same size at about 2.5" in diameter.

Goose Creek-----------------------------------------------------------------------Momotaro

Goose Creek is anything but a "paste" tomato.

Here is whats growing from the Goose Creek seeds you sent me Ray,in the first pic.Second pic is your Purple Haze F3 ones.Maybe just a freak thing with the GC? I made sure to keep those two aside when I started them,to not get them mixed up. No big deal either way, hope they taste good. Barry

Wow!! Barry, the photo on the left looks like nothing I have ever seen. As Goose Creek is an OP, I am really surprised at their looks. Anyway, there are a great tasting tomato, no matter what the shape.
