Default Newbie needed help.

I originally posted a thread
http://www.tomatoville.com/showthrea...ight=Nematodes
and while I got lots of comments I really didn't get a satisfactory answer. Well now I have the answer, and it's quite interesting.
First I did a soil test, then a nematode test.
The soil test supplied the answer, lack of magnesium. Seemingly this lack prevented the plants from taking up sufficient potash, which as we know is used for root formation. The cure is to use Epsom salts.
As to the nematodes, nothing found. It was suggested that my addition of large amounts of organic matter would have minimised any problems I had with nematodes, as it was added in the middle of the season.
So, thanks to all who tried to supply an answer, and as someone suggested "Get a soil test" if you have a problem, it will stop you heading off in the wrong direction, which is what I was about to do.
