Doin it in the Snow
As you have probably heard England and Europe have been getting hit pretty hard with snow and cold weather. We have had more snow in the last month than the last 4 years! Anyway here are my dogs doing their thing in the snow. Ami

Nice dogs Ami.
We also have a lot of snow, 44 cm this morning though temps stay around zero. Past week I had to shovel every $%&# morning to get car out of garage |

Great pics! Sure doesn't seem to faze the dogs. Course one of mine would be hidden beneath the snow (short leg syndrome)

Lots of cold and snow in the states as well. Snow in Florida! Say goodbye to the citrus crops! -8 farenheit this morning, warmed up to negative 3 now. Drifts in the backyard are 5 feet with overall snow of maybe a foot? I'm dreading going out to feed the poultry.

Worth, both of those dogs were brought back from Crete as puppies when I was at Souda Bay. They are both mixed breeds. They have a dog problem down there with too many dogs and not enough caring owners. Ami

Orphans, as you know all of my critters are orphans.
As cold hearted as it may sound when I see the adds about kids in 3rd world countries I don’t feel a thing. When I see the adds about the critters that are neglected and don’t have a home it brings tears to my eyes. |

Great pics Ami!
My little beagle is loving this snow. She has to stick her nose in every track in the yard.

Andrey, your getting what the folks are getting in the Northeastern/Central U.S. are getting hit with. What's funny is the folks in the British Isles aren't used to the white stuff and it's panic city in some area's. I remember being down in Zaragoza Spain and they got maybe an inch of snow and the whole city shut down. Anyway we got a dusting of snow again last night and here are some pics I took after shoveling the driveway and sidewalk. Ami

Great pics as usual, Ami
We had until recently a rather large black labrador retriever (especially for a female and up to 45kg/98lbs) and a West Highland Terrier (also a female). The Westie would "allow" the lab to be first out the door when the snow was high in the backyard. Why? So the Lab could create / plow a path for the Westie to be able to navigate, with her short legs. It was rather comical to watch them. She would bound from each set of Lab's foot prints to the next. Sadly as her bone cancer progressed over her last winter she was unable to do any jumping. So we'd go out shovel off pathways from the house, so she could head out under the trees or bushes to do her thing. Or if she really wasn't doing that well, just go out about 4 feet from the door. If she ever got the stuck the Lab would try to pull her out, or when she got sick, would bark for us to pick her up. I'm not sure who loved it more when the drifts got high in the backyard. But if it was packing snow, the Westie would eventually come back to the house as a little snowdog, because her coat would collect all the little balls that would amass to the point she could barely move. Then fun was putting her in the kitchen sink, and turning the handspray on her with warm water to melt it all. The two dogs were only a month apart in age, and we lost the Westie due to the bone cancer in June 2008 and the Lab went into mourning without her, and had a stroke, so we were forced to put her down, about 6 months later. So your pics bring back allot of great memories, Ami. Thank you. They'd have loved your snow. We have about the same amount right now....but its "early" yet for winter here. There will be more soon, I'm sure. |

Zana, I hear you when the Westie would come in with snow balls all over. Our little one is the same and I just usher him (Felix) and the large Female (Sena) into the bathroom to thaw/dry out. I'm not looking forward to the day I lose one of them either as they are close as well. When it happens we'll have to make the best of it. Ami

Looking at your pics Ami it looks like you live in a smallish town surrounded by farm land? I'm not used to seeing pictures posted of countries overseas, guess I've left a sheltered life, LOL. Very nice area you live in. My husband was in germany once, probably 30 years ago now, and he said it was the cleanest country he'd ever seen, that even the cities were spotlessly clean.
