Default More colors needed

Last three weeks there were just two colors here, white and grey. Yesterday I woke up, looked through the window and it was white/grey combination again.

I had enough. Desperately needed to see something green and blue, got my family in the car and to the south we go! Luckilly we have just one hour driving from our frozen zone 7 to mediterranean zone 9.
We had a coffe break sitting on warm winter sun in turist resort Portoroz.

Then we went to the city walls of nearby city Piran.

Persimmons still on the tree:

This was tomato garden, notice support made of giant reed:

Caper bush:

We were slowly becoming hungry and it was time to find a good restaurant away from turist routes. Behind is fortified church from 15th century with famous paintings.

After good food and wine it was time to go back to the two color world.

Lovely photos. I wish I could drive an hour and be in the mediterranean sun! The frescoes in the Hrastovlje church were fascinating, too.

Great pics. I'm so jealous that you can drive an hour and drop 2 zones. It takes me a whole day! I'll be in Key Largo(zone 11) late next month. I can not wait.
