Default Seed Starting In Flats in April and May for Second Crop - Help

Here's what I am thinking please correct if needed and how to do it.
1. Start the seeds in flats inside
2. Once the seeds come up do I put them outside in a shady area with no wind OR do I need to use the grow lights (Note) what temp should I bring them back in and/or the safe temp to leave them out all night if they do not need a grow light (because of the warm April and May weather)

You can probably leave them outside in a protected area if the temp is above 60. Your biggest concern is with too much sun too soon, it could cause sunburn. Increase exposure to sun gradually over several days. Once they become acclimitized they wiil be fine. I get volunteers every year that sprout outside and do quite well until I pull them.

Consult Craig's (nctomatoman) advice for more on starting seeds.

Just like winter sowing seeds you can start them inside and once they are up take them out side. If you are having an early spring like we are in No VA zone 7 you should be fine. I find it easier to start inside and take outside however winter sowing works fine once the ground soil heats up.
