Few pics of my babies.
Started my seedlings on 3-13-10 and as of today most are 10"-12" or so. Had their 1st dose of half strength fertilizer today. I grew these under tough love conditions. When they were 2 weeks old I moved them out into the new greenhouse where they endured lows of 40 and highs of 80s. Anything below 40 and the heat kicked on.
They have had fans blowing on them all day long since moving to the greenhouse. Surprized I only lost a few plants out of the 100s I have going. A few got a litlle sunscald on a leaf or 2 but recovered nicely. Brandywine-Mortgage lifter-Red pear-Yellow pear-Virginia sweets-Black krim-Cherokee purple-Kelloggs breakfast. Also have Big boy,Early girl,Early wonder, sweet 100,Golden jubilee,Super beefsteak. |

looking good. that's a great list. If you like hybrids, why no sungold? I think I may prefer it to sweet 100.

Sungold is on the list for next year. This is only my second year growing veggies. Had 2 get the soil right in my gardens and next year will be in deep. 2 gardens of 4000 sq ft and 18,000 sq ft. Growing for self/family and local markets.

Beautiful seedlings. You done good (((pat on the back))).
So Let me ask you about your greenhouse. Where did you get it/what model did you get? I was thinking about getting one as I do just about every year and just haven't made the leap yet. What do you use to heat it? Thanks, Jen |

Thanks jhp. I bought the 10x12 model from harbor freight. It is normally $799,was on sale for $599 and I had a 20% off coupon for a total of $480. By the time you factor in foundation, shelving, fans etc etc I have an easy $1000 into but I think it is a nice GH for the money.
I heat it with a vented propane heater. |

Peggy, Great job. The tomatoes are looking good! You and I have some of the same varieties of heirlooms growing. Plus I am trying Early Wonder..A free pack w/order from TGS..
Nice looking greenhouse... The hubby and I are building one with recycled Patio doors and Windows..Been collecting for a number of years now..The walls are now up..But next is the frame for roof, etc.. Cant wait till it is done! G |

Hi, willi12, and welcome to Tomatoville. Your Sungold should reward you with an ample harvest of delicious little tomatoes.
