One determined little Anna Russian

I was only able to get one seed of AR to germinate so I was really hoping the best for this tomato plant. After being cut down TWICE by cutworms, the last time to only about an inch stem remaining (seen in pic), last weekend I dug it up to replace it with one of the other extras and didn't have the heart to follow through, so just moved it to the edge of the bed and figured I'd let mother nature do the rest.
Just look at her today!

Probably is getting a very late start, but I'll be happy just to see her grow.

Best of luck with that little plant ... it obviously is determined to live! I can relate to agonizing over "doing-in" plants. Logically I know some are too small, too weak, etc..., but I still don't want to be the culprit. I'd rather let it die of natural causes - let something else be the bad guy!

One summer I attempted passively to murder a rose bush.

There was nothing really wrong with the rose bush.

The color of the roses just did not seem to ..go.. with
anything else in the flower garden.

So one day I moved it over the berm and planted it
down in the woods figuring the land crabs would likely
do it in eventually.

Thereafter... each time I thought to look at it, the homely
little thing was down there blooming its heart out.

Angel Face grew on me.



Of course I rescued it. :wink:
