Default Colors of the summer harvest...

Nothing is more relaxing and pleasing than walking into the garden after a long day at work and bringing home some fresh produce!

And some early tomatoes from the "bucket" garden so far...

Noire de Crimee

First one was larger, about 12 oz

Grub's Mystery Green

Lambada

Taxi

Main garden tomatoes should be starting to blush in few days, can't wait!!!

Happy growing all!

Regards,
D

Amen. Very nice, I'm enjoying some bucket maters as well, kind of a nice supplement until the main crop comes in.

Duh Vinci, you're way, way ahead of me! I'm green with envy! Some of my toms have just started getting the first blossoms... But you know why I'm so late this year... clara

Looks great Duh Vinci. Those patty pan squash look nice. I have never
tried them. I just do the green and yellow summer squash. Is there any
difference in taste?

I know Clara, it's been a rocky year for you! If I could send you a basket of tomatoes, I would in a heart beat! Soon my friend you too will have them coming in!

Roper - I like them because the seeds are generally small, very firm, perfect for fine julienne cuts, and seems to be always sweet. Plus, memories of the childhood in Russia, white variety is most commonly grown there, "Patisson". Try them next year, you may like them! I often quickly run them through mandaline slicer, and quickly fry with bacon, thinly sliced onions and add to rice - combination of flavors and textures I think are great!

D

Mmm, that sounds good. I'm going to try it with yellow squash. I forgot to
ask how was your Grub's Mystery Green. Mine are getting big, but not yet
ready. I have read some good reviews on this forum about it. Just getting
over a cold, so now I am starting to taste food again. Will try the Numex
6-4 monday or tuesday.

Well, now I know how Grub's Mystery Green taste. Mine had a little of a
yellowish tint on the bottom. My first tomato from the plant was great.
Better than Aunt Ruby's German Green. Unfortunately my first plant to
get late blight. Hopefully the other tomatoes will get ripe before the plant
dies.
