Branch Damage
So far the main stem of Toedebusch Pink is still ok, but 1 of the side branches started to wilt. I noticed that at the point the branch grew out from the stem, it looked like there was some damage. There was a noticeableseparation of the branch from the stem almost as if it was cut and now the branch has separated from the stem. Now this is happening on another branch. Is this cutworm, or do those usually just attack the main stem? Any ideas? Sorry I don't have pictures.
Thanks! Chris |

Without a picture, there is no way of telling if it's from a parasite or if it's caused by the weight of the branch not being supported, etc...

I know what Farmette's talking about - though I don't know what it is either. Usually happens on my Black Cherry every year. The branches start wilting one by one, kind of a slow progression, and then I notice the same separation that she's talking about. It's also happening to my Cherokee Purple - different container, not near the Black Cherry. And the Black. It doesn't resemble fusarium. I will try to get a picture of it this weekend - won't have time before then. Generally the plants are pretty gigantic when it happens.
