Default Zippered tomatoes OK...

to use for seeds? The plant I want to save seeds from has some tomatoes with zippers that I want to use as they were the first to form and are probably not crossed.

What's a zipper? (having mental images of tomatoes getting dressed up for chilly weather...)

Seriously, never heard of the term.

Zippering is to me just a cosmetic blemish, some varieties tend to have it, many don't and no problem saving seeds from zippered fruits b'c it has nothing to do with anything infectious.

Ah, I see. I've had that an always just cut it off.

The Black Krim looks kinda pretty actually, with the stripes too.
