Default Black from Tula plant dying fast

This plant was wonderful huge fruit, this problem started near the bottom of the plant, i pulled of a huge one to fast and cut the stem open on the side branch, now the leafs have been dry , i have been watering it for 2 days, now there are crisp and dying as gray leaves, so dry, the stem is ok, no bad colors on stems or leafs. help???? I just cut all stems that had these bad leafs off. i think the plant is dying fast, i have 7 others around this one and do not want to kill any more, the fruits are ok, 3 big ones and small ones are on top now.

Just saw a hollow stem on the bottom, must have been a nasty bug again, this happened in early June. New ground, i dig out the grass last year for a new garden .What should I do after this plants are done?
