Can Gold Rush Currant grow in a container?
Can anyone tell me if Gold Rush Currant will grow in a 7 gallon container?
I see on Tatiana's Tomatobase that it is an indeterminate but I read in seed catalogs and in Amy Goldman's book that currants can be more of a spreading habit (small leaves and branches). So is it more of a spreading bush (still indeterminate) or is it like an indeterminate cherry with small fruit? If it is a spreading habit (can't reasonably be pruned/staked/caged) then would it perform well in a container? I'd like to put it in a 7 gallon container as all of the spots in my tomato bed are spoken for. I would appreciate any insights about currants in containers vs ground. Thanks, Joe |

sure can. the smaller the tomato, generally the more forgiving of constraint.
