Default When to transpant cucumbers and squash

The plants a coming along and I have a question about transplanting them as seen in the picture they are getting long (I know leggy) - when I transplant them out how far of the steam do I cover (up to the leaves etc)
Thanks for your help TIA
John

I disturb the roots as little as possible. So if I planted 5 seeds per cell and all came up, I plant the whole clump. Sometimes I even cut back the weaker plants.

Oh, and I plant them at the same soil level.

Plant at the same soil level. They will thicken up and do just fine so don't worry about them being long.

I like to put them outside to toughen up for a while before transplanting and I like for them to have a few good size leaves that have developed while outside before setting them in the ground.
