Can I spray Daconil during the day?
Can I spray Daconil and/or copper fungicide during the day or in hot weather? The Ortho Garden Disease Control label doesn't list any restrictions, but I'd like to hear from anyone who's tried it.
I generally try to spray early or late in the day, but the spray regimen now spans at least two hours and there simply isn't enough time. |

O have tried it but I usually make sure it is a bit over cast when I spray during the day. With it over cast I have not seen any issues with it if that helps.

As long as your not getting direct sunlight it should be ok. Cloudy skies with the sun popping in and out should not be a problem. Normally after you spray the plants it has dried after 15 minutes anyway. Ami

I just recently read a post on GW by a guy who sprayed when it was hot and I think sunny and all the plants he sprayed died. Hearing this I would be cautious about it and get some information from the product makers if you can.

Thanks all. Fortunately, we had good cloud cover today. I was feeling pretty smug about my disease-free garden until about ten days ago. Nothing like 8" of rain, heat and humidity to eliminate the smugness.

41n,
Sorry, can't help you with the timng on the spraying, but Carolyn did mention in a recent post that she had spoken to a Daconil rep and they said not to tank mix Daconil with anything else (I think that was the context of Carolyn's post, maybe she can correct me if not). So, it has to be sprayed by itself I'm assuming. Their label is lacking quite a bit of info, it seems... And I feel your humility, the tide can turn fast... Steve |

Heritage - Yes, I saw that post, just by chance. With a lengthy spray routine, it sure is tempting to mix, but I'll follow their advice.

I don't know where I posted about not using two prepes at the same time so will just say that I did call Ortho b'c I wanted to do the same, Daconil plus a foliar feed and they said no, b'c the number of molecules of Daconil is calibrated to be at a certain concentrration and the second product added may interact with the Daconil changing the # of molecules.......or something like that, I mean I don't remember my exact words but that's close enough. THe man said to spray a few days apart.
