Yes its a very good seed site for tomatoes Glenn, the only thing that bothers me though is that they list Brandywine (Sudduths ) and Brandywine (Quisenberry Strain ) as two different varieties, I always thought they were one and the same both originating from the Ben quisenberry collection.

One other warning - check the ratings in the Garden Watchdog. Me and others have found that their pepper seed can be iffy in terms of germination, and I think others may have found issues with impure seed. Just be sure to do your research prior to diving in.

I had never ordered from them, but got excited when I saw they had 1884 ..Then I read the reviews at Garden Watchdog. I am so glad I think before I leap...18% positive...

Like to place a token order when asking for a catalog from seed companies and started to do that with Reimers tonight

Their seed packs are small. Black Cherry, Sungold and Micro-Tom only have 10 seeds. Reisentraube, Jaune Flamme and Black from Tula have 20. Most packs are $2.50.

That would have been OK but when I went to check out with a ten dollars and change order, the shipping was $5. Not worth it. I'll add to what I'm getting from Sandhill and TGS and forgo Reimer's catalog.

Most of the pepper seeds ordered from Reimers had issues - either low/no germination, or crossed.

I had some of the same issues with their seeds last year. I had one variety that should of been regular leaf had potato leaves. And germination was low on most compared to the seeds from other vendors planted in the same flats. If you contact them they blame it on you not using Miracle Gro seed starting mix or temps. ect. And as Craig says the peppers were the same way. Just my experience. Jay

Go to the Garden Watch Dog at Dave's Garden. http://davesgarden.com/products/gwd/c/1681/ They are still having the same sort of issues they always had.

Most of them fall into the categories of:
low germination,
impossible to contact and get a reply,
expensive,
wrong seeds.

That is one that stops me, wrong seeds. If I'm trying to obtain a rare variety, I'm not going to take a chance on the other issues and still not get what I want.

I know you run into the problem of finding American companies to ship to you. I'd ask for the varieties in the wanted forum before I'd order from Reimers. It's not that I've every ordered from them it's just with that many bad reviews why take the chance.
