Great Peppers!

This has been my first year garden and I gotta say the Peppers have done so well, especially for someone who didn't really know what they were doing!

I have these planted in my front yard where they get lots of heat.

I don't have much luck with peppers until the end of the summer after it cools off and by then I don't care much, LOL. Does anyone have recommendations for extreme heat and possible drought?

I have what feels like extreme heat

(although the weather shows that if I was more south, the heat is worse...)

and I definitely have drought.

I start early although am still working that out.

I have started seeds in Jan and that seemed too early. This year, I started in March and that seemed to late. Feb for 2012.

I mulch heavily. And I have a dripline.

I am still working out the best place in my yard for peppers. They sulked in my tomato patch, perhaps from lack of sun.

Hot peppers are on the west side of my house and seem happy. It seems like hot peppers grow better for me, thriving on neglect...I seem to remember my garden, in the summer, when my house is quiet...thus rarely...but school's in session!!

A few Alba Regia are looking wonderful!! and they are on the east side of my house - the prime rabbit section, but I shall harvest fruit soon.

I put up a rabbit fence around the hot peppers, because I would have just cried if rabbits would have feasted on those...
