I think that's sunshine on really close to dead, black leaves. Poor thing. Look at the nice healthy ones right next to them.

yeah...the vine is re-shooting. i'll just cut off the dead stuff. the plant has been attacked by mites, which is how they got unhealthy, then we've had an extended heatwave...but the thing that surprises me is that those leaves are blue. really blue. indigo blue.
never seen that before!

Mine in the garden here in South TX have the same color, it ocurred right after a cold front came through and we had very high winds. The tomatoes are growing just fine and none of the leaves have died off.
