Alstroemeria
I love Alstroemerias because they remind me of Florida so much. I've been looking for them for a few years and I finally bought some "bulbs", they are VERY rare in Russia. I shoved the "bulbs" into flower pots about a month ago and they've released a couple of shoots. What do I do with them now? Do Alstroemerias grow only in the southern regions?
This is my first year trying to grow flowers, so I don't know much about flower gardening |

Marina,
You can plant them out and they should bloom for you, even in your climate. In the winter you will probably want to dig the "bulbs" and store them in a cool spot indoors. I sent my mother (in Montana) some roots last year and they did great. She mulched them heavily before the ground froze and they survived a Montana winter! Although, they are not supposed to survive in her climate. Steve |

Steve, you just made my day! I will find a sunny spot for it. So anxious to grow this beauty.
