Actinovte on tomatoes planted two days ago

I've just planted my tomatoes a couple of days ago. I used tomato-tone as my fert, and have been reading about being proactive with problems. My question is: Am I too late to apply actinovate to my earthtainer? Or can it be applied post planting.

It can be applied post planting as a soil drench. Well I say that but Im specifically speaking in general. The SWC im not positive about, you need to PM raybo.

I believe Ray applies an Actinovate drench to his Tainers 2 weeks after he plants them. You can add Actinovate as a drench anytime but the sooner the better. Ami

I will likely apply in the two week period as a drench. When applying as a drench I presume this is through the top of Earthcontainer, as if I were watering.

I have no scientific basis for recommending waiting 2 weeks after planting out the seedlings to then apply Actinovate. Just my "nose" telling me that initial transplant shock should be over by then. Use your own judgement.

Thanks Ray, just sounds like the right thing to do. By drenching, do you mean just water it in from the top?

I would mix it as per direction on the Actinovate pack, then pour about one pint per plant around each root base.

Of equal importance to the Actinovate treatment is to immediately commence a weekly spraying of a fungicide of your choice (Daconil, Serenade, Exel LG, etc). Don't wait until you see fungal issues - as by then it is too late to prevent them.
