Default Help with jalapeno plant damage!

So I have 4 jalapenos in a 9 sq ft area, 2 planted weeks before the other two. The two big ones have been great until this last week when only one is looking chewed up more everyday. I have yet to identify the culprit. Can you?

Thanks in advance!

Picture didn't work, hmmm. well the leaves of 70% of the leaves of the plant are chewed looking on the edges and in the middle of some leaves. Very ragged looking.

Well, in my case it was a rabbit. I had to replace a couple pepper plants, and place 2 foot tall chicken wire around all of them. They're doing fine now.

I am treating as though it is slug damage. Hope to remedy the problem before it starts on the other plants. Didn't look worse today, so maybe the salt did the trick.

This was the worst slug spring ever for me - they did a number on many of my peppers in the 3.5 inch pots....when I worked with the plants I have an unbelievable number of the sluggies clinging to the pots!

For slugs/snails I hunt at dusk and dawn. So far i've probably taken out at least 150 in two months. I actually smosh them and the leave them in piles throughout the yard. Then the next day their family members, sadly, come to feast on their remains, well guess what happens to them, squish...rinse and repeat. Then the birds thank me stay away from my plants.

I use smoosh instruments (thats technical term) like a brick, or a 2x4 etc.
