Update - Muddy Bucket Farm 08 Jun 2012
Here's a quick tour of how things are looking this morning. I'll do some detailed posts in the individual dwarf forums, but wanted to share this overall look at what is growing well this year. Dwarf tomatoes, sweet peppers, Blue Lake green beans, a few White Half Runners, Peas, some Rattlesnake pole beans, yellow sweet corn, two areas of okra, Burpless Cucumbers, Onions, and Cabbage. Lots of work this past early spring on weeds is paying off this year. Enjoy this little tour of my 40' X 85' of veggies.

Ted,
Absolutely stunning!! I've clicked through your slideshow twice now. What a wonderful job you have done in transforming that empty field into something so productive. Curious as to what Dwarf Project variety is in slide 19? Keep up the excellent work. Raybo |

Ted,
It looks as though the Muddy Bucket Farm is doing very well this year. Great looking garden. Everything looks picture perfect. Diligence and hard work pays off. Looks like your on your way to a great harvest this year. |

Thanks, Folks. I'm still learning.
Raybo, the plant in picture #19 is Arctic Rose. The particular seeds for that one came from SherryAK (vial #3228). It was the first to show fruit and what you can't see in the picture is the other side of this little tomato machine which has as many fruits as this side. I hope Sherry and Craig decide to release this one this year. It is very prolific, very early, and very tasty with pink toms that average about 5 to 6 ounces. I rate the taste of this Grumpy family progeny at 8.0 to 8.5. We shall see what the end of the season brings.

Ted, "Arctic Rose" from Sherry also has the first tomatoes of the dwarves I am growing out this year. Cute little plant...I'll be tasting it for the first time this year. I hope it gets released this fall.

Looking good Ted and very sanitary indeed. Nows the time to bring out the lawn chairs and a rack of beer and enjoy the fruits of your labor. Ami

Yes, every thing looks outstanding. Not a yellow leaf in site, good variety, and plenty of production under way. I'm envious, yes I am.

Thanks to all for the positives. Jerry, I like the row setup because I get to do most of the weeding by just running the rotatiller down the rows and then I only have the area between the plants to do manually.
Ami, my small personal sized cooler takes 8 of the 12 oz cans of Natural Ice. After a long afternoon on the back patio watching the cows graze, I find the cooler sometimes needs to be refilled. Oh, the trials and tribulations of retirement.

Ted, I noticed that you tie everything to a single stake. Do you prune your plants at all, and if so, how many growing stems do you leave on each plant?
