It's not much ... but it made me happy :)
This little assortment includes my first big tomato of the year -- Ludmilla's Pink Heart -- which also happens to be the first big tomato I've ever successfully grown from seed. Thank you Carolyn! It's here with two Moskvich -- very pretty tomatoes, thank you Jerry! -- and a Moravsky Div (thanks again to Carolyn). They're not ripe yet, but close. It's a lil bitty grouping, but I am SO thrilled with it.
Also, the peppers are Aji Crystal ... thank you, Roper! Love them. |

What's your opinion on the taste of Moskvitch? |

Jennifer, I haven't tried it yet. The first ones aren't quite ripe. I'll post back after I taste it. So far the only ones I've tried this year are Moravsky Div, Sophie's Choice and some cherry tomatoes.

Hey! Your " not much " is above my greenies!!
Still twiddling my thumbs waiting for the heirlooms to flash some color. I picked four cherry tomatoes from one of my Sweet Cherry 100 plants about an hour ago but that's it thus far. Your haul looks great!! Julia

Please report on the Aji Cristal, im growing about 5 plants and its my first time. Will you harvest them when they are yellow or when they hit their final red stage?

I am a big fan of Moskvich. Sweet, rich taste. Fairly early in my garden and handles cool wet spring weather well.

Dahlia, i think they are just beautiful. I am living vicariously because i won't get a homegrown until about late december. I wish we had a summer season.

I'm also growing these for the first time. I've got a couple on my plant that are full size now, but I'm waiting for them to ripen first. I'm also curious on the taste.

I read that Aji Crystal is best when yellow, so that's when I've been eating them (not sure if they're totally yellow yet actually). They were described as medium hot with a bit of a citrus flavor, and I thought that was accurate. I grew serrano and ordono last year, and these are milder but more flavorful. Maybe I can describe them better tomorrow when I'm not half asleep.

I've had a few cherries, but finally got a Earl's Faux yesterday - bit of BER, but the rest of it was fabulous!

Jennifer, I ate one of the Moskvich tomatoes this morning. It was a good home-grown tomato, though personally I prefer sweeter tomatoes and this one wasn't sweet. It had a lot of gel and seeds, but no mushiness. Certainly a tomato that's welcome on my plate , especially now when I don't have many varieties ripe yet. And it sure is pretty!
Tracy, the Earl's Faux sounds great. Re: Aji Crystal, all I can add is that it's by far my favorite hot pepper that I've grown -- granted, I haven't grown many, but it's also one of my favorites that I've tasted. I can't take a lot of heat, and these have the right heat level for me, and I like that it's a flavorful heat, not just bitter. This one will be invited back, for sure.
