I grew one a few yrs ago; it was great fun. Your pumpkin looks really great, can't wait to see what the final weight is.

Thank you both, it's been really incredible to watch just how fast this pumpkin grows.

It looks great Julia. What are you feeding it?

Pumpkin is such a cool plant. I hope you break a record. Are you entering it in a fair?

I'm feeding it lots of calcium and burying each leaf node and adding a special fertilizer mix from Hollands Giants out of WA state to each leaf node area.

Once the leaf nodes on the vines are buried they grow roots thus adding more available
" plant " to the pumpkin thus having it grow larger.

If it reaches my goal of 600 lbs I'll rent a trailer and drive it down to a pumpkin weigh off event in Doylstown PA.

Cross your fingers with your toes for me!

Well, 28 days and 100 lbs. I would say that you have time to reach your goal. Go Julia!

Fingers and toes are crossed.

Julia,
It looks from the photo that you have not released the node at the stem yet. You need to do this quickly before the growing pumpkin adds more pressure and snaps the stem off. If you have already released the node, disregard this message

I just lost my beautiful pumpkin this week. It was almost 600 lbs. Good luck and I'll be watching for updates.
