Default Wife is driving me crazy.

We are on our annual migration to western PA from south Fl(escaping summer and hurricane season)and driving RV through the south visiting friends and sites and can't find any sweet watermelons.Plenty to choose from but all bland. They are all good looking in colors, smell etc.but just don't have the sweetness. Is this common around the south or are we spoiled? The wife loves the "seedless",maybe the strains went off course and we should go back to seeded. We are coming out of Ga.now from 95,to 26 west then 77 north through the mountains to Pa.

i'm in ct and there are good sweet watermelons grown locally so i don't see why pa wouldn't have good ones. weather may effect them but it may be too early, my melons weren't ready until september. picking them too soon gives you a melon that is not sweet and will not get sweeter once removed from the vine.

Yes, try the ones with seeds. I've been buying mostly the seedless because they are smaller, and they are not as sweet as the large seeded ones.
