Default Which strawberrys have pink flowers ?

I was given a few strawberry plants. I noticed one of them has pink flowers. For years, my Father, reletives and lots of our neighbors raised strawberrys. But I never saw 'pink' flowers....
I asked my buddy that gave them to me. He also has a few plants with pink flowers.
He's bought them from a nursery that was going to toss them out, because they were almost dead. The tags were missing and he he didn't know what kind they were either.

Does anyone have any thoughts...?

I have some strawberry plants that are named TRISTAN- they have pink flowers and make delicious berries. The berries are sort of elongated and pionted on the end- very delicious, and produce constantly. If you will Google pink flowering strawberries I think you will get info.. I got mine at Home Depot 3 years ago and can't find them any more.

I remember only "ornamental" (no tasty berries) strawberries with pink flowers, but I never looked carefully at the flowers.

Good heavens! These do appear to be very dark pink flowers! I'm tempted to try some in pots, though I'm sure the sample photo must be doctored a bit. http://www.kellynurseries.com/detail.asp?pid=3501

The photo is not doctored at all. I will take some photos of mine tomorrow and show you how pretty they are. And they are quite productive. I had several nice pickings from my plants last year.

Default My Tristan strawberries

Here are some photos of my Tristan plants-they are just breaking winter dormancy, so are not very showy yet.

Nice photos, Jo! How many years do you think you can keep the original plant going? I seem to remember the ad said something about it doesn't make runners, is that true?

I have a heavily running variety I isolated from a swamp out in the-middle-of-nowhere, Wisconsin. The runners have helped it maintain itself in the garden under assaults that would have otherwise killed it off. It would be neat to blend in some of the pink-flower genetics with that wild type.

In my experience it made runners but they had flowers and fruit- but the crown does multiply, and can be divided, which is what I did.
