First time order and it was everything that I expected!

Amazing quality, incredible selection and fantastic packaging.

Their website is informative.

I failed to start pepper seeds in time this year and finally ordered. I've been hesitant in the past because shipping to CO is expensive. So this year, I ordered most of my pepper garden to offset the shipping.

After seeing the plants, I find the costs totally reasonable.

They are a local (NJ) family run business that sell pepper, tomato, tomatillo, eggplant, basil and other herb plants as well as some pepper seeds and other garden supplies. They have plants available in their greenhouse and on June 1 every year- whatever is left on that day is $1/plant...and I love a bargain.

When I first got into peppers I ordered a lot of hard to find stuff from them. Great service and selection.

If I lived within a few hours drive I'd be there every year for the final sale day.

Yesterday, I re-potted my CCN peppers because I can't plant until the mid to end of May, and as I was working, I was trying to figure out a reason to travel to their area some spring.
Not sure that "to buy peppers" would "fly" with the family.


The peppers that I successfully started in Feb are so small and sad looking, compared the to mail order plants.

I did that one year, arranged a trip to New Jersey around when they opened in the spring and did two boxes of plants as carry ons when I flew back. I was sweating buckets that they wouldn't let me take them, but the TSA agents were decent that day...

I've been trying to get a customer in San Francisco to have me come out next week so I could try to hit one of Brad Gates and/or Fred Hemple's plant sales this spring, but I don't think they're going to go for it. ;-)

Just want to say that what is available in the greenhouses that are open to the public even before the last day (June1) are the plants that are either extras or too old/tall etc. to be shipped and the selection and availability varies from day to day. The plants in prime condition are for mail order or pick-up orders so if you are going to make a trip to CCN before June 1 I'd definitely place an order ahead of time. The plants available for the June 1 plant sale are all the leftovers as the mail and pick-up orders have all been completed and they are closed for the season as of June 2.

Not trying to discourage anyone but I wouldn't want to drive a long distance and be disappointed in the selection and/or condition of the plants that are available. This is a primarily a mail order business run from the owner's home in the country.
