Default Earthtainer potting mix for cucumbers

I have a good experience growing tomatoes in earthtainers but never grew cucumbers. Do I use the same potting mix that I use for tomatoes or something different? I'm sure I don't need garden lime (do I ?), but what about pine bark and fertilizer? tia

Here are my Diva and Sweet Success as of May 7. They are in my 3:2:1 Mix. I also mixed in 1/2 cup Epsom Salts. The EarthTainer in the center is looking best using 2 cups Plant-tone plus 2 cups of "new" Tomato-tone for the fertilizer strip.

EDIT: I also used 2 cups lime

Raybo, my understanding about using dolomite lime is that all veggies/fruits with seeds, excluding strawberries, need dolomite lime in the soiless mixes. Is this what you find as well?

Raybo, so the only tainer with fertilizer strip is in the middle and others don't have it?

Rockporter,

It is my understanding that all plants will benefit from Dolomite Lime in a soiless mix grow environment. For cukes, I drop it down to 2 cups.

jamserg,

In the 'Tainer on the left I used High Yield fertilizer. The one on the far right had Fertilome. My point was that the combination of Plant-tone plus "New" Tomato-tone (3-4-6) exceeded the performance of the synthetics for my cukes. A good way to use up my stock of the New Tomato-tone, which would have gone unused.
