Default SWC convert

For the past 2 years I have been growing in 18 gallon containers with 511 mix and have been satisfied with the results.

This year I made 6 SWCs out of 18 gallon containers which seemed to end up being maybe 14 gallons of mix which is Ray's 321.

I must say I am impressed by how well they are doing, especially the Sweet Success cucumbers which have out grown a 7 foot tall trellis and are still going. I will get 3 cucumbers this week and who knows how many to come.
They drink lots of water too so it is a natural for an SWC.

I have some Karma peppers in both type containers and the SWC is definitely out growing the regular container.

I also have 2 Sun Gold and a Parks Whopper that are doing well.

I used Lilly Lilly Miller 10 10 10 in everything and it seems to be doing a great job.

This time next year I plan for all my containers to be SWCs.

I'm still using the 511 in all of my containers except 1, which is a 5 gal bucket SIP. Ironically the bucket is doing better than the containers.....larger, greener plant! I have had some BER problems with the bucket in the past and hoping to ward it off this year with a couple of changes I made.

In your cuke 'Tainer how did you apply the fertilizer?

Hi Raybo.

I planted 4 and since it was a smaller container and less plants I put a one cup strip, not two cups in the center the long way across.

I used Stagreen peat. I mixed it 321 with some 511.

One thing strange though and I might be jumping the gun, I just pulled 2 nice cukes but so far none of the others are getting bigger yet. There's a bunch about 2 inches long.
I hope they will get with the program soon. Those 2 were delicious.
