Default Do I need to worry?

I have about four or five Virginia Sweets that are mostly rotten. Upon closer inspection I found a small beetle with 4 spots on its back. It is about 3/16" long. These tomatoes are on only two plants. Should I use something like bt or just dispose of the infected fruit, making sure the insect is killed?
Thanks
