For hybrid tomatoes in order in which I would order HYBRID tomato seed from. If you are talking about heirloom and other kinds of open pollinated seeds then my list would be completely different. I have put at least one order with each of the companies below and have had a good experience. The order of them are based on a mix of: connection to this community, price and quality mix, selection, and how apt am I to order from them because of other things they have.

Tomato Growers Supply. http://www.tomatogrowers.com/
Fedco has a few. http://www.fedcoseeds.com/
Gourmet seeds http://www.gourmetseed.com/c=wd2etn9...___red_hybrid/
Gourmet seed packets tend to range from large to huge.

Stokes http://www.stokeseeds.com They are oriented to commercial growers and have mostly hybrids. I think my family first ordered from them in 1970.

Main Street Seed and Supply http://www.mainstreetseedandsupply.c...eeds_s/130.htm good prices, selection tends to be the old standbys.

Tradewind fruits http://www.tradewindsfruit.com/tomatoes/

Totally tomatoes http://www.totallytomato.com/ his is the company that got me started on growing many different kinds of tomatoes. The quality of the seed is good, but they and the other companies associated with them have a bad reputation when it comes to plants. If they had something that I couldn't get otherwise I wouldn't hesitate to order from them.

In addition to the above, harrisseeds.com is an excellent seed company.
A couple of their well-known hybrids are Jetstar, Supersonic, Moreton.
Also a great selection of other vegetables and flower seeds. Darlene

thank you both for the recommendations . I have tomato growers supple and the Harris seeds catalogs. I had picked out some tomatoes from TGS 2013 catalog, but then I went to their website and was reading some of the negative's replies from some customers. several saying the seeds mostly did not germinate. Of course from saving and growing my own heirloom tomato seeds, I know that good soiless mix, light, moisture are of great concern. I have always had good luck with germination of seeds for I made a homemade bottom heat for germination. I have on this forum heard only good things about TGS company, and I would love to do business with them. thanks again for the info

I have been pleased with service from:

Blue Ribbon Tomatoes
Sample Seed Shop
Heritage
Artisan
Double Helix

.. and probably some I'm forgetting! All of them are recommended vendors here. Also, you can browse through the threads in this section to see what people think of many growers.

Good luck!

Since you live in Tennessee, and express the need for disease resistant hybrid tomatoes, I think you should purchase your seed with particular attention to disease resistant varieties designed for and acclimated to the Southeast U.S.

Try Twilley Seed Co.: http://www.twilleyseed.com/

I always start with Tania at http://tatianastomatobase.com/seed-catalog/html/ . She not only sells great seeds at good prices - she provides a hugely valuable public service with her tomato database.

Remember- the more seeds you buy, the more varieties seed producers can produce. You can never buy too many seeds.

Scott-

I LOVE this line from you: "you can never buy too many seeds."

I may put that as the quote in the bottom of my signature.

I had a great experience with Heritage, Steve is awesome and my order was here in a bout two days! Very fast shipping. If you order I believe $25.00 worth you get free shipping and free bonus packs of seeds. He also offers sample packs. I just placed an order on E-Bay with Blue Ribbon Tomatoes, she has a deal going on right now $9.99 for 20 varieties and a lot of them are KY heirlooms that are very hard to find and she has a list you can pick from.
