Peppers!! And seeds of Orange Thai
Peppers I picked yesterday. They are now smoked and dried, and ready for storage.
I have seeds of the Orange Thai - a variety I found in a grocery store in Bangkok and grew for the first time this year. Extremely productive, attractive color, nice heat without being over-hot - a great candidate for pickling. If you want some seeds, drop me a PM with your address and Orange Thai in subject line. No need for SASE. OFFER CLOSED. I will send the seeds this week to the 12 folks who asked. Last edited by ScottinAtlanta; September 8, 2013 at 03:00 PM. |

They are all nice looking peppers.
Is the orange Thai apt to be a named variety or do the Thai people save there own seed and pass it around? |

I don't know the answer to that. I just saw it in a little plastic package in the grocery store, and bought a package. I assume it is a commercial variety. It was just labelled "chili" - but all the peppers were labelled "chili" in English, so not much help there.

Are you saying that this is the same pepper, or that I should rename it?

Lovely peppers!
What are those little round red ones in the very middle? Are they spicy? |

Great looking harvest Scott. You must have a large inventory of pepper seeds since you get to go to so many parts of the world. I appreciate that you have a generous nature as I have been personally benefited. Your comments about the Thai Orange caused me to check my own inventory and decide to plant them again. Thanks for posting the picture.

Received your seeds Scott! Thank you very much. Would you like an update on how they do for us next year in Central Valley California? If you like some pepper seeds i can send you some.

Here is my first pickling effort - using only salt and sugar.
The orange Thais look yellow on the far right jar, whilst the red look orange. But in real life they are still orange and red. |
