Citrus ID help
I got a bag full of these from a customer today and she said they were kumquats. BUT I know they aren't. Kumquats are oblong and sweeter. I tried a couple and boy are they sour!!!. They are the same diameter of a quarter. I appreciate your help I have pics but it won't load. I will try in a few minutes.

They look like they may be calemondins. Skin sweet, fruit very sour. Great tangerine like flavor when added to cranberry sauce, skin and all. Also good in iced tea.

There many different types of kumquats not all are as sweet as others.
All are eaten with the skin on. Many citrus are grafted to the wild sour orange who's fruit is too sour to eat as is the wild sour lemon. I have never seen a wild orange could the person have picked fruit from the root stock? I just don't know enough. Worth |

I found a few seeds sprouted inside of them. Planting tomorrow. They are very cute and would be great in some pots I also read that they were a possible cross from mandarin and kumquats. Interesting
