Trinadad scorp peppers.
I'm sort of an extermeist and would like to try and grow the hottest pepper on earth the trinadad scorpian pepper. I ordered some seeds from Bakers creek, 10 seeds for $3, we'll see how well they grow.
I was thinking of going to a local bar and having a pepper eating contest, i'd split half the cash with the bar and keep the other half. As at being over 1 thousand scottviles they are really hot. Much to hot IMO for kims idea of making Chili. |

They are a great pepper and they are MUCH hotter than 1000 scoville units. They are not the hottest but you will no doubt enjoy them. I certainly enjoy mine.

Great peppers! Not the hottest, but to most people, they will be the hottest pepper they ever imagined eating.

are you for real or just a troll? 1st the baker creek plug and now this. who told you that trinidad scorpion is the hottest pepper? it is not. what is a scottviles? oh yeah that's right it is https://twitter.com/SounDChimP and you think a TS is 1,000 SHU? you think eating these at a bar in a contest is a good idea? you have no concept how hot these peppers are. i eat hot peppers and i have eaten TS and many others in that SHU range and they are not toys to play with. you think they are much too hot for someone's chili but they are ok for a pepper eating contest? here's what i think, go do some reading and know what you are talking about before you hurt yourself. that's the best free advice you'll get today.

I completely agree. Scorpions are not to be played with. They are dangerous
and can take away your breath and mess with respiration. They are also in the 800000 scoville range. There also might be legal implications to providing these as a fun contest. I repeat (they are not a toy and not for amusement) ron |

I've heard about a local restaurant that offers extremely spicy dishes, like this
"DEVIL’S VEGETABLES (Mixed vegetables in a VERY spicy ghost pepper sauce – MUST SIGN WAIVER). " http://www.redhotchillipepperca.com/RHCPMenu.pdf Only a few items on the menu are extra spicy and require a waiver. |

I don't know if you had read the link that Heirloom gard had posted but he claimed to be autistic. Which could account for the less than precise knowledge of what he was trying to get information about. George

thanks for the heads up. no i never saw that thread or i would have tempered what i said. i suppose i think we are all on the same level but clearly that is not so. sorry for being a dick. to the op, trinidad scorpions are extremely hot peppers. please be very careful handling them, cutting them and especially eating them. wear gloves and eye protection, juices on your fingers will remain hot for days. soap and water does not wash off capsicum the chemical that contains the heat or in this case fire. eating a TS raw can cause respiratory problems (as another mentioned i forgot that when i posted) and even cooking them can do that as well. the ONLY thing that will mitigate the burning in your mouth is diary products like sour cream, yogurt, milk be sure to have something near by if you eat peppers that you are unfamiliar with! seriously peppers in the SHU range of TS and similar peppers are extremely hot and actually dangerous. unless you have experience eating hot peppers that are at least in the 100,000 to 500,000 SHU range i suggest you avoid peppers that are called super hots which is where the TS is.

Yes, yes, yes, yes. A single mistake can cost you dearly. |
