Default Tree ID please

A new neighbor down the street was removing this tree, don't know why because it's a beautiful tree. They don't know what it is, they just bought the place. It had a fruit growing on it. Not sure if it's even a fruit but I took one with their permission and a couple pictures before it came down. I have the seed soaking and can't for the life of me figure out what it is. Thank you for any help. ~Christine

The tree looks sort of like a yellow oleander (Thevetia), but the fruits don't match.

Most Oleanders put out bean pod like seeds but not all of them.
Here is an example of one that doesn't.
Thevetia peruviana.

If it is dont even think about eating any part of it.
Even a small chew can kill you in a most horrible way.

That's it! Glad I didn't eat the thing. I just cut the seed out and stuck it in some water. It's starting to split just yesterday. Hopefully it sprouts soon. Thank you everyone!
