Default Guess the dwarf

Here's a photo of tomatoes from two plants.
One is Cuostralee.
The other is a selection of Ruby F2, a cross of Cuostralee x Summertime Gold, and also a 4' RL dwarf size plant.

Which group of tomatoes do you think is from Cuostralee, and
which do you think is from Ruby F2?

Courstralee is on the left.

How does the taste compare?

I'll guess that Ruby is on the left!

Yes, how is the taste?

More photos.

The first is of Ruby F1 and Cuostralee.... can you tell which is the hybrid and which is the parent?

The next two photos are of Cuostralee and Ruby F2 from two different plants.
The taste of these were all great.

Cuostralee had its typical balanced flavor with the complex undertones that I like so much. Good balance of juice and meat as well. Not the best I've had of this one, but a strong 8.5/10.

Ruby F2 RL-in was the closest to Cuostralee in flavor. Nice balance between sweetness/tartness with bold undertones. Excellent overall flavor and a solid 9/10.

Ruby F2 RL-out had a sweeter flavor than the other two. But it still had the bold undertones from Cuostralee rather than the bright flavors from the other parent, Summertime Gold. Clearly Summertime Gold's sweetness came through in this one. 8.5/10

Just to calibrate my scale, the best Cuostralee is around a 9.5/10 for me, and Summertime Gold is a solid 9~9.5/10

Overall I'm pleased with these two results and plan to name each to move forward with.

So, are you going to tell us which is which in the first photo?

I'm glad that the taste is so close! I've never grown Cuostralee, but have heard good things. I have only moderate success with late-season tomatoes. What kind of DTM was Ruby?

I'm going out on a limb here but here is my opinion with the first photo.
Courstralee is on the left, The reason is the perfect one in the photo has the right amount of ruffles on it.
The tomato on the right the big one is a fused blossom which will cause ruffles.

Just a stupid guess.

Cool! What do I win? Maybe some F3 seeds?

I thought the ones on the left were better looking, and figured you were trying to get us to say they were Cuostralee!

I think that can be arranged!

BTW, the DTM was 57 and 63 days from transplant.
However, everything has been coming in ~10 days earlier than usual, so I'd say on average they are around 70 days.

I think the contest was fixed.
Somehow Lee had it so Robin saw the photos backwards from the rest of us.

I was going to say the ones on the right were Coustralee, only because of the one smooth tomato without much ribbing! As I remember in my garden, Coustralee's tended to be rather smooth, but of course much is environmental. But, WOW! I'm so glad your Ruby F2 has continued the great taste. The sliced pictures sure look alike too. Looking forward to this new dwarf!
Now if only it could mature a bit earlier ....

Wow! Now 70 days is do-able here in my neck of the woods! I'm so happy that it's a shorter timeframe than the original Cuostralee! I really need to try to grow both!

Looks great Lee! After 3 attempts at Cuostralee, I finally gave up. Maybe I would have better luck with Ruby!
