KBX cotyledons, no true leaves

I have my lone KBX that has been up for over a week, and it has yet to develop any true leaves, just to large and healthy cotyledons. All the other seedlings have at least one set of true leaves. The area where the first leaves appear looks a bit thicker than it should. I am curious if others have had this happen, and if so, will it ever develop leaves.

If it doesn't, I can always plant another variety, or will re-seed, but it is getting a bit late for that here.

The seedling probably will never grow leaves. If it miraculously did, it would be stunted. Hint: Always grow extras of everything. If you don't need the extras later, give them to friends.

Curt, I agree with Dust on this! You could also give the extras to folks who aren't friends yet. You'll end up with more friends that way.

I've kept a couple that eventually grew leaves, but most don't. But they even if they do, the plant remains slow and gnarly and never catches up. Not worth keeping, except for your own curiosity.

Theres a name for that, is it "blind?" Anyway, the only Blush that came up strong did the same thing. I have reseeded the few remaining seeds and hope for better results.

I did plant extra, but they didn't germinate. I will plant some more seeds and see what happens. I still have time, but not much. I also have extras of other varieties that I can replace it with, so not too worried. Either way, I'm covered.

I would consider presoaking the KBX seeds.

Yep, I presoaked what was left of my Blush seed. Good luck with the KBX I am waiting on those to come up also.

I came home to find that I am out of KBX seed, so I will probably plant an extra plant from the extra seedlings I have of Sweet Ozark Orange.
